YOU.
SOME STUDENTS...
Some students... think that what they DO makes them worth more (or less) but that isn’t fair is it?
Some students... are cleverer than others or have disabilities, or have a different background.
Some students... think that their value is about how rich or poor they are. So a little baby born into a wealthy family is worth more than a little baby born into a poor one. Deep inside, most of us know that isn’t true either.
Some students... think they are worth less because of what they have or haven’t done. Or because of what someone else has done to them. But a £10 note isn’t suddenly worth £5 because someone has scribbled on it or spent it on cigarettes. The value of a mobile phone doesn’t go up or down according to what people say into it - or what YOU say into it. The same knife can be used to kill or save a life.
So what would it be like...
for YOUR students to find out that their value is based in the FACT that they are ALIVE? No one could make them worth less then! People who choose to think this way tend to value themselves differently, and decide that human life is priceless. And because your students are human beings they are priceless too.
