Lesley wins disfigurement charity award.

Congratulations to Powerchange GOLD Coach Lesley Lambeth, a Family Support Worker at Lister Community secondary school in Plaistow, East London! Lesley won Changing Faces? ?Catalyst for Change Award? in the Education and Schools category for changing the way schools address disfigurement. She pioneered the charity?s approach to social skills training by coaching pupils with appearance concerns. She has also arranged for the charity to offer specialist training for all the teachers and support staff in the school. Her work has increased staff awareness of issues that children with visible differences face, equipped them with skills to tackle these and promoted a culture of inclusion within the school.
